WBO2 location
I finally purchased my WBO2, and now finally have time to install it. With the SLP Y-pipe and SSM SFC's, there isn't much room to mount it right where the two halves come together. The first location that has enough room to mount it is in the middle of my straight pipe, about where the AIR tube would be on a cat converter.
Is this too far from the motor?
I know some are keeping it closer to the motor, but this is tough unless i mount it sideways. I was under the impression that it should be mounted at an angle or installed from the top to avoid condensation from getting to it.
I'm open to any suggestions on a mounting point.
Thanks

i dont have a choice. ceramic coated headers. need to but an adapter from hedman that bolts to end of collector. and then shorten the exhaust pipe same amount. my O2 will then be same as wideband. mirror image. mounts on top.

well its installed, and seems to be ranging as fast as the stock one did. So I guess it can't be too far off.
Only thing I've watch is the idle. So far I'm hitting 14.1:1 AFR on the WBO2. Guess that means I can lean it out some. That translates to 108 blms according to my scan tool. I need to work on the hac bin tonight so I can datalog the WB output to see how the car looks across the board.

Anything within 6 feet or so of the exhaust ports is fine.
Depending on what WB you have too close is worse then too far downstream.
I've run the PLX and DIY ones where the converter normally is on my car, without a problem.

Phew! Thanks for the reassurance.
I am running the PLX controller and sensor. So far the car is running much better once I got the bin worked out...... Now if the weather would stay nice enough for me to do some more datalogging........
