I have noticed something......
I have noticed that the ecm can determine that the prom is bad(big deal right). Well, if the prom is bad the ses light will not flash 1 time when the key is first turned on. I have three eproms and one is bad. The ses light will flash one time real fast then stay on w/ the key on, with the good proms. The bad eprom will not get that quick ses light flash, the light just comes on. I know that w/o the prom in the ecm the ses light will do the same thing as the bad prom. BUT the ecm grounds the cooling fan when the prom is not installed(bad prom doesn't ground cooling fan). The ses light is responding to some kind of handshake with the memcal.I know something is going on in the ecm.
Has anyone else noticed this???

If the SES doesn't blink at me at, key on, I don't bother to crank the engine.
