Another PROM question...

I just bought a 1991 Speed density 350 TPI setup including harness and 7730 ECM with EPROM to install on my 305 which currently has TBI. My question is will the 350 PROM from an automatic work with my 305 with a 5 speed? I've done a search and could not find anything relevant. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Yes, it will work but not great. A bigger problem will be the 350 injectors on the 305. Unless you are doing you own PROMs getting 305 injectors and a MEMCAL for a 305/5 spd would be the way to go.

Then again, IIRC a TBI engine (LO3) has the swirl port heads while an LB9 has better heads along with a better cam. So even a stock 305 TPI MEMCAL may not work out too well. Good reasons to start burning EPROMs. Can correct the calibration.

Actually, I tossed the factory heads and replaced them with World Products 305 torquer heads with the same size valves as 350 heads. Also, I have a VATS question. My car is a 92 RS with VATS. The 7730 ECM also has VATS. Will I run into any problems with that?

OK, so you have to do some tuning anyway. Should be able to find a stick bin around and just go from there. VATs won't be a problem, input to the ECM is the same between the two.
