msd ignition and cam setup question

if i have a mallory unlite distributer with msd ignition system. will this make it easier to tune? would i have to disable the spark table? what are the pros cons of it? will it be hard to tune a engine with a cam with 284 duration and .507/.510 lift? any help would be very helpful im putting a tpi setup on my 73 chevy for my senior project.
thanks
darin

Going to a distributor with a vac / centr, advance is taking a huge step backwards.
Run the MSD off of the HEI, and keep the benifits of computer controlled timing.
