ALDL Plug for Scan Tool
I'm just getting into the whole scan tool, wideband O2 tuning deal, with an eye on eventually buring my own PROMs. I just finished building my RS232 interface for my laptop and my ECM (165). I was wondering if it was possible to buy a plug that will fit in the ALDL port on the car. I can build a cable to go from a 9-pin serial port on my interface, but I want a plug that will just fit into the ALDL port in the car. Does anyone make such an animal?
I'm planning on running ElanScan. Anyone have any comments on this program? My laptop runs an XP operating system, so it looked like my options were limited, since I don't want to pay for a program.
Thanks in advance.

Try and find an old junker laptop, too often a decent one get dropped or stolen. Seeing an old white Toshiba on the seat, isn't much tempation.

Okay, that's a great idea. I'll just install a four pin weatherpack connector inline with the stock ALDL port and build a cable to go from a 9-pin serial port to a 4-prong WP.
Thanks for the advice!
