Code 33 (89 IROC MAF 165 ECM)

I hope to have better luck here!

Here's the scenario:

I was working on an '89 IROC with a MAF 355ci stealth-ram, ZZ9 cam, headers, T-56, 30# SVO's.

It threw a code 33 and 36.

33 - MAF (gm/SEC HI)
36 - MAF burn off

We replaced the MAF sensor with a brand new one and code 36 went away, but still getting code 33.

The .bin I started out with was the ARAP .bin modded for 30# injectors, I turned off EGR, AIR, VATS and selected flag for manual tranny.

Still gets code 33 even with the stock chip.

Is it coding 33 because of the Stealth-ram pulling to much air? Is there anything in the .bin I can change to correct this or is the problem wiring/mechanical ?

Any suggestions?

There is a diagnostic threshold that needs to be increased. I think it is at location $210 (bin address). Increase that. May also need to increase the max airflow vs RPM table for full MAF fueling. No sense in limiting the airflow reading.

What table or constant would this be in Tunercat to make these changes?

Is it intermittent or constant? You can also get a code 33 if there is a signal from the MAF burn-off relay while the engine is running.

I don't know. May not be in the tdf as it is. Sometimes a hex editor can be used just as effectively.

It's a constant code. Still codes 33 with stock PROM and custom PROM.

The new MAF took care of the code 36, but still getting a constant code 33 when the motor is running.

Is there a mechanical problem with the MAF etc.. ya think, or is his stealth-ram motor just pulling too much air which set off the (33 gram's/sec too HI ) code?

Yes, read my last post and check your MAF burn-off sensor.
