Question about making aldl cable

Question about making aldl cable

Hey, I've soldered everything to the bread board except I'm not sure where to attach the ground part of the two transistors. Do I ground them to the ground part of the DB9 cord or to the A socket in the ALDL?

both...the ground from the ALDL goes to the ground of theDB9 socket.

What about the emitter part of the transistors? They go the same ground I guess?
