Tunercat $T31 turbo code OK?

I've got a racing buddy with an 87GN and he's had problems with head gaskets since turning up the wick. I opened my stupid mouth and told him to get that thing to the dyno on the WB before any more WOT runs to check AFR. Soooo he said sure! as long as I come along. I'm going to take my laptop and burner. I just bought TC $T31. Is $T31 TDF file pretty accurate as far as the WOT fueling tables go? I'm not going to try any thing fancy, just want to make sure he's not way lean or into serious detonation. Looks like the good Turbo Buick scanner software is more than I'm willing to cough for just dorking around so I'll try WINALDL- it has a 1227148 file?

Thanks

Steve

I think it's been pretty well sorted out by now. There's more then just a few guys using it.

Too often the problems with GNs is the owners have some notion about wanting to run small injectors, and then they suffer thru trying to make static injectors work right.

If he's at all serious, he needs to get DirectScan by Chu Engineering to see what's going on. The 160 ALDL is just wayyyy to slow to use on a GN. Direct Scan is an edge card reader instead of using the ALDL. If you want to DIY then Lockers is the other answer.

For GN specifc stuff might visit here and read up on them a lil.

Let me second the Direct Scan plug. I used to have a laptop based ALDL scan tool and its ridiculously slow on a GN. Direct Scan grabs everything and then some at up to 18 frames/sec. You can even use a parameter file to grab additional memory locations as well.

lockers are a neat neat thing :-)

I've only seen Bruces and Prevosts' setups for it and it was amazing how much they caoptured :-)

When i yank the engine in the TTA and go to tune it i have a BobR's neato lil locker board for datalogging , should work sweet an dhopefully amke it a not so hectic process

they sure seem to be the sweet ticket
