WinALDL help....!!!!
I am having trouble getting the data to show up.. If you look at my pic this is all I get while car is in motion. When I first start car every once and a while the EGR, RPM and TPS will get a signal but then go away. I made a com cable that looks like the interface2.gif file. I did not use R4 becuse I'm running TPI.
Also have tried the TunerPro RT and I get connections and some info but, no real data.
I have a 1227165 ECU.

I've searched for hours and hours on these forums and cannot find similiar problems.
I have just rebuilt the motor in my cam and I'm in the begining stages of prom tuning. I know it needs it bad. Now when I go WOT it spark knocks and pisses carbon all over behind me.. hehe.
Likes to leave black spots.
Any help on this matter or direction where to go would be a great help. I might even have a 6-pack delivered to yer doorstep..!!

'89 165? you can use 8192 baud data acquisition, not 160 (12x the speed!)
using TunerPro RT, load the datalogger, load the 165_6E definition, and click connect.
provided you have a 10k resister between A and B (which is *required*) you should get data immediately (might take a click or two on "connect").
If you don't get data, your cable is bad.
I have an 89 TA with a 165 and have no trouble getting data using TunerPro RT.
WinALDL is awesome and invaluable for the 160 baud guys, but anyone with a 165 running 6E should be using 8192 baud in my opinion.

I got the winALDL to work...!!!! Woo hoo..!!
I still can not get the TUNERPRO RT to work. It doesn't connect to ECM. I have chosen the 6E definition and still nothing..
