hi allI would like to say I frequent this section a bit but untill today had no reason to post.. I went out got a used laptop, got "diacom" 2.85 vervion...can't get the car to link with the laptop..
could someone offer some insite as to what is going on? the laptop is a toshiba 4030 CDT running W98 please feel free to PM me or reply, mods if this post is not suposed to be here please feel free to move or delete as nessary, the only reason i posted here is b/c there are so many more people here that the other "board" thanks GTA .....ps the car is a 92 GTA ... Wild guess, but try running it off a DOS boot, instead of W98.
I've got a couple of laptops that I have to at least boot in DOS mode to get scanning stuff to run off the serial port.

Make sure u have the right cable hooked up and your not using the one meant for 86-89 MAF cars . Its gotten more than one of us here :-)
Older laptops, there is a chance u will have to pay for the bios settings as well. If u call Diacom (Rinda Technologies) their tech help is fairly decent

it was the cable... All i saw was TPI on the cable . I changed the cable and now it works like a charm....

search alot and work smart, and u will be rewarded, glad I could help
lots better than when i couldnt find out why my diacom wouldnt link or break comm all the time. The actual cable from laptop to adapter was bad :-(
Mine works awesome now, has to be the msot stable datalogger i use, too bad its kind of old tech nowadays to the newer stuff out here :-(
Supposedly doing a new version thats windows based along with obdII compatibility and prior registered users will get a deal, but thats all i know, no release date as of yet
