hey whats up people.. im over at the Ls1tech, but ive had my share of thirdgens.. for those of you who want to get some custom, OEM style gauge overlays.. made from MACHINES not plastic or sticker.. there is a company, 6LE designs.. you can google them.. very reputable amongst muscle cars.. here is the link.. they are doing custom overlays.. well worth the price.. you can put whatever you want on them and they will make your gauge of your dreams come true.! check these links out as you can see more of their work..

lol sorry, i meant that high quality machines are used to make them, not cheap computer printers, or whatever.

Thought he stopped making them in feb because he sold the machine that made them? Did he keep it?

 

The buyers told them that they can keep them until the end of April. So no one will be able to order anymore after april.. So they still have the machines, so if you're restoring interior. You cant have a 'good' interior on your third gen with the stock gauges. Lol

 

I would consider this in a heartbeat if i could also get needles as well but they dont offer them for third gens. Even then itd be cutting close to other nicer options (imo).

 

If enough people want something. They always consider on making them. They do have 4th gen needles but who knows. Maybe all of thirdgen .org would like some needles

 

By the time that did or didnt go through the overlays wont be available, so...

What if in a week after they stop making these. Someone else or them make the needles for third gens lol.. That would suck

like i said you can customize it HOWEVER YOU WANT.. any background.. anything.. the E or F gauges for gas, anything.. my gauges will look like the Zr1 ..

some that people have came up with with the custom website they have where u can mess around and make ur your own. except the Pontiac G8 gauges, those are already made

 

I'd like just plain black ones instead of the stock checker backround in the Bird but is it me or is $250 + $25 shipping = $275 kinda expensive?

 

Very considering other options available. Ill admit thought, if i could get new needles as well id def consider it.

 

Just use a red sharpie on tbe needles thats what i did and they turned out great

 

I think if u just want nothing changed its 200 bucks. Yeah the price for me was high too. But considering the quality. I jumped on it in a heartbeat. They aren't the sticker overlays or anything like that. I'm pretty when they really stop making them they will be worth more on the re sale value since no one else has the quality they have at the moment.. I thought about it for like 3 nights lol price wise. But then I said what the heck.

 

I believe he also said you can work something out with him if you don't have the money at the moment.

 

I REALLY want the Cyberdyne Digital Dash, I'd pay whatever for that. There has got too be a warehouse full of those old dig dashes somewhere, probably stacked next to the lost ark.

 

i was lucky to grab a set of cyberdyne firebird digital dash for $20 on ebay 6years ago. it wasn't labled digital dash or cyberdyne and it was a fluke that i clicked on it.

just timing and luck. the guy was parting out his car. gauges still work fine in my trans am, i called cyberdyne and they were able to send me the original wiring instructions

 

yeah those are my gauges!! lol. i was the prototyper.
