Starting help!
alright i'm very new to tunning myself, i've read up alot on some of it trying to get the gist but i'm still at a loss for most parts. i have a question i'm hoping someone can answer since i can't find a shop in my area that can tune my car to start.
what area or areas in tunning do i need to focus on to make my car start properly. the only way i can start it right now is to hold the car to the floor which is unacceptable. the person who helped me tune the car last said that it was because my car has such a large cam but i don't believe it. it's still SD fuel injected so it should be able to work right.
any suggestions?

have you checked your plugs? fuel psi, etc.. have any data log info?
if you have to hold it to the floor that sputing you in clear flood mode. Are you dumping to much fuel and just puting out the spart and fouling plugs left and right????

make sure the base timing is set correctly, min idle speed, and that you have a reasonable IAC at hot idle.
If someone other then you has been playing with the chip, then you need to do a file compare and see exactly what they've done. Then once you know your starting with a clean sheet of paper, you can work on actually tuning it to start. Just like tuning for WOT, you need a known baseline to start with.
first i set constants the most important being BPW, most constants were ok as is. i started with car at idle in driveway. lucky for me open loop start up(choke, iac function) was good. cold start issue only was low idle speed but never died. so i accepted that. next was idle again but in closed loop. then at higher speed idle closed loop. then a ride around countryside, closed loop. all this datalogged. i corrected all blms that populated in VE. the ones not logged i fudged. after that i went on xway and ran areas of rpm/map and again adjusted blms. finally i disabled AE/PE and tried to set 3200and 3600. hit on a few and fudged the others. up there now a bit rich 122-126 and that is OK.
