Lowering Fan Turn On Temp
I've read most of the articles on the site about how to DIY proms and it sounds "simple". Appears I should be able to start programming chips for under $200.
Here is the question - the only thing I want to change is the temp the primary and secondary fans on my 88 Iroc 305 TPI come on. I know the secondary fan is controlled just by a switch, but I wanted to change the primary as well - which is controlled by the ECM.
Once I get the hardware and software, how hard is it to change the temperature. Will it be obvious? Meaning there will be a message/prompt saying: Fan Turn On Temp xxx F and all I have to do is type over it and then burn the new BIN onto the chip?
Can someone post a screen of what it would look like? With the info regarding what software they are using.
I had bought a hypertech street chip off of Ebay but it sounds like I wasted my $25 - since it didn't lower the fan turn on temp (apparently I needed to get the track chip for that). If I get the programming setup, my strategy was to just reprogram the hypertech chip (after saving the original bin first).
Any thoughts?

Using TunerPro for a 89' the Constants are:
Minimum MPH for using Fan 1 Duty Cycle Table
MPH for Fan 1 Turn On if A/C On
Minimum Fan 1 Time On
Fan 1 Duty Cycle if MPH < Minimum and A/C Pressure High
Fan 1 Turn on (A/C on)
Fan 1 Turn off (A/C on)
Fan 1 Turn on (A/C off)
Fan 1 Turn off (A/C off)
just my .02
