checksum

hi,

is it normal that the checksum from the bin file is different in tunerpro and winpp2? in tunerpro its 50C2 and in winpp2 its 5225... ?

Yes, totally normal.

The Checksum in the bin is for use internally by the car's computer and is *not* calculated from the file's beginning to end points. The checksum in the PP2 software is a checksum of the entire file used to ensure integrity and verify chip and bin buffer.

ah ok thanks. one more thing... after burning the bin with winpp2 the programm says "device did not verify to buffer" but when i verifiy it again its ok. what can that be?

not sure what to tell you there. Perhaps its a communication issue between your host PC and your PP2 (were you moving the mouse, etc?).

I've seen the same thing, from time to time. Seems like the 29C chips do is most often. I usually do a verify as a matter of practice anyway, just as a sanity check, dunno if it's the chip or me that I'm checking anymore.
