FINALLY can log data with CMoates Software, how to use?

I searched and didn't really find what I was looking for. I'm able to now log using CraigMoates ECM data logging software. How do I use the data I now have? Am I supposed to burn this log onto a chip to be able to read in say tunerpro? Help the newb. Thanks people.

Now I havent used tuner pro RT for scanning, but as far as most go- the scanned data you collect is for your review, to interpret and make changes to your current bin file. Your bin file is the data burned on your chip- whether stock or aftermarket. You would load your bin file into tunerpro, make changes, and reburn this "new" bin file to your chip (or preferably a new/different/spare chip). Insert this new chip into your car, and repeat.

BTW- all this info is in the stickies at the top of the DIY PROM section. Read ALL OF IT a few hundred times like I did and it will START to make sense.

That's what I originally thought. I guess I'm really asking what do I view the log file with? A simple windows notepad or is there software that organizes the log for you?

any spreadsheet will work. Just drag and drop the datalog on the spreadsheet and it will open it for you to view.

There is also a program called Panalyze that's intended for sorting and analyzing ALDL data logs. Doing a google search should locate you a copy for download.

Having said that, I mostly use Excel. Your Moates ECM s/w will save the data as a .csv file, that you can open as a spreadsheet. Once it's in Excel (or any decent spreadsheet program), you can sort, graph, and analyze it to your heart's content.

For a quick overview of the scan I use panalyzer and for more analysis I use excel, see here for example of diagram from moates software to excel...
