SA and PE/AE in $61

I believe I have actually tuned the VE1 and 2 tables to the best I can get them at this point. I am working on Main SA and PE/AE stuff now. I have a pretty bad intake backfire if I open the throttle up just right. I think this may be a combination of fuel and spark problems, but it is really tough to nail down since I can't really capture the event with the datalogs (160-baud ALDL).
Anyone got any ideas? Is this gonna be an exercise in note-taking and trial-and-error tuning?
TIA!!!

Update

I just finished doing a little more with it. I needed to work the Main VE a little more. That cleaned up part of it. I also managed to rid myself of those pesky spark counts I was getting. It seems to do fine under normal load, but if I put the pedal down, it is still bogging out a little.
Any advice???
