Data Logging question
I am learning this stuff and went out last night to pull down some data.
The quesiton I have is how long does it take to pull down a good amount of data??? Also....in all the different tables should there be data which populates all the cells almost automatically as you drive?
The reason why I ask is because the tables we not being populated other than a couple random values in a couple random cells and it just didnt seem to be working as it should when I wnet out yesterday. I think my cable might be bad...but before I start diving into that I want to make sure I understand how "quickly" the data gets populated.
Regards,
dave

Need more info
Are you using WinALDL?
If so, you'd want to check your "Configuration" settings.
Once that is set correctly, and the car is running, keep an eye on the "Raw Data" page. Data should scroll across the screen at a regular interval- 1/second or so. This will indicate a good data stream.
BLM, INT, O2 and spark count take a while to populate with data. After driving the car for while at varying engine speeds and loads, you should have good coverage.
To tune, I take mine out on a good drive- 20 miles or so. Some may go more some less.
You may want to confirm with a search, but it seems that for the above mentioned tables to populate, the engine has to run at a given MAP/RPM condition for a length of time (10 seconds?) before an average value is placed in the cell.
