Start w/ stock 305 bin, or 350 bin?

G'day,

I have an 1986 IROC that came with a 305 TPI...somewhere along the line, a 350 got stuffed in (638 stamping on block, and 14102193 heads). The previous owner put in a set of 24lb injectors...runs rich as all h*** (you reek of gas after you drive it).

A read back of the 305 chip compared with a standard 350 bin is apples and oranges....is it better to i) modify the readback, or ii) start with a stock bin?

Thanx,

FH

I would start with a stock arap bin and modify it to fit your car a little better. I have one you can start with if you want it. Use at your own risk of course. Let me know and ill email it to you.

Hi,

I found a site that has the ARAP bin for download; I'll take your advice and start from there.

Thanx,

FH

Okay, so I loaded a 29C256 with ARAP.bin (0000- 3fffh, and 4000-7fff) with the VATS flag off.....and now the car will not idle. Starts better than before, but it revs up to about 2k RPM, and then dies. It idles with the 305 chip; stumbled off the line, and wouldn't accerate properly, but it stayed alive.

Something I'm missing? Can I datalog during starting? Or is it better to copy the 305 and do some datalogging before I try the ARAP route?

Yes there is. You need to uncheck the N/O fan switch also. there are a few changes to be made. Contact me by email and i will give you a bin to start with. The bin i have is a slightly modified arap bin that will work fine for your car. My email is: clippjr8@hotmail.com.
