Help a brotha out

I just got home from my work where my car is. I did a diagnostic through TTC Datamaster and found that the PCM is not found. I go and compair my plug I am using and my painless harness connector and found that they are different!!!

My cable has pins in the....
A-B-D-E-M terminals.

My connector for the harness is
A-B-E-F-M terminals.

The F terminal is a black/tan wire.

Which is right, the cable or the connector? A american car mechanic (I am a VW specialist) told me the connector is. Anyone know what I should do?

For a 92 TPI, you should only need A&M. E should be the same as M. It should connect straight away, without using a 10k resistor between A&B.

If you're using the TTS DataMaster ALDLTest program, you should use it with the diagnostic cable disconnected from the car, and just connected to the PC. Check all your COM port selections and make sure you have it set to the right one. Also disable any IRDA port on your laptop.

So, both the cable and harness are correct.

I only got two options for the for the COM port. None, and COM3.

When I tried connecting, it said "No PCM Sync" and that was it. I did the test and it said the cable is fine, but no computer is detected.

Craig outline the comm stuff, the others don't matter for what you need to do.
D is only for the check engine light, F is for the TCC solenoid.
You should be able to connect if your PC is setup to use the right port.
