What can be changed on stock 1228746 ecm?

Its most commonly used wit LO3's 305 rd gen. I just wanted to know what to modify, and if I can modify anything (only 4k's).
Also, how safe is to modify stock engine (re-built heads and many new stuff, but the block is pretty much stock).?
I am planning on using Prominator pro ver. so I can change my set up on the fly with their switch.
Just imagine how cool would it be to see a ***** and flip a switch to race mode. They will look at you like there is no tomrrow, wait, I dont really know the answer to that since I can not turn my head that far back to see. Just a little ture joke.

hmm.. not a whole lot with a purely stock engine. You can work with the timing and fueling. There are probably some improvements to be made there. If you dont have a cat you can set the commanded WOT afrs a bit leaner as well, like around 12 something:1. You can also mod your stock shortblock just like any other motor so long as its in decent condition.

Go to http://www.tunercat.com/ click on supported ECM's and there you will find some things that you could change in the code...

There is actually a whole lot more then what TC has listed there that can be modified but the most common items are pretty much the only ones youll be working with most of the time. On a stock motor, though, the tune from the factory is ok. Some things that I needed to change on my ecm when I had the stock L03 where the IAC counts vs temp, crank AFR, park position, and a few other things but most of that was for drivability and startup when it was cold out. On a stock engine theres not much you can do to get a 'race mode'. Maybe lower the %tps enable for PE but with a stock tbi its probably in the right place to begin with. Some report that they have obtained some improvements with performance by adding a degree or two of timing to the higher map areas of the SA table. The stock table is conservitive so more timing can help, but dont go overboard. Another thing is to reduce the ammount of time it takes to restore full SA after knock is detected. On mine it took eons to get all the timing back after the KS picked up a few knock counts. Reducing the time to restore full advance back to a second or so helped but any changes to how it deals with knock reduce the computers ability to control detonation.
