Zietronics users...

I went out to the local TnT to see what my car would run, even with the myraid of other problems its been having I ran a 13.9 @98. Right now I'm runninga 24lb fuel injector constant w/ 30lb injectors and 128 BLMs +/- 4, w/ all my PE vs. RPM set to 10% enrich, so I'm 17% higher than stock.... My FP gauge is showing I have very good and consistent pressure but I'm going to replace the fuel pump anway. Also the MAF only pulled 190gr/s max the ENTIRE night. This thing has really got me beat.

Weird thing tho... Right before my last run, I started it up for about the third time in the staging lanes and I noticed that the wideband was showing like 3.17 volts +/- .2 rather than 2.5 for stoic. 3.2V is like 20 to 1 AFR, It was showing it as being REALLY LEAN. This is the second time its done this, but the other time it went away as I drove it. This time I restarted the car several times and it still did it. The exhuast smelled like a bad vacuum leak or something else that would throw the tune way out of wack. As I had the car running on the narrowband simulator I turned off the car, disconnected it, and hooked back up the 3 wire narrowband. The car ran much better and I drove it home like this, but the wideband was still showing like 2.9V to 3.0V at cruise and up to 4.6V when I let off the gas and it was engine braking It would also only show 2.5 or 2.6V at WOT. It did this the entire time, even after the ECM had adjusted BLM's for the narrowband.

Has anyone else noticed this sort of thing with their wideband? I'll try posting some scan data... Anyone know how to tabulate data on a post? I've got a bad feeling about his copy and paste...

Anybody have any clues on my running problem? I have a link to the TPI forum thread at the bottom of my signature if anybody would like to help out.

Also, last question, I swear, How bad of an idea do you think it was to wire up the Wideband 12V power to the same wire that powers the ECM? Do you think this could explain a few things?

I'll try posting some scan data from the ride home tonight. Anyone know how to tabulate data on a post? I've got a bad feeling about his copy and paste...

I installed my zt-2 about 3 weeks ago and am very happy with its performance although I am using the factory NBO2 for the ECM operation. I installed the WBO2 in a separate bung in the left exhaust pipe about 2" to the right side outboard of the oil pan. I also installed an EGT sensor on the left exhaust pipe to the left side of the oil pan. You did not install the WBO2 sensor in the factory location did you. According to the installation instructions the sensor does not need to see EGTs in the 800* + region. I do not understand this since the heater operates at a higher temp than that I believe. I also wonder about the reliability of that simulated NB output to control your ECM. My reason for not using it. I too used the 12vdc power to the ECM with no difficulties. I like the other pick-offs for TPS and RPM this little unit so far is pretty neat.

I have seperate o2 bungs for each, One in each bank in the y-pipe. Their around the tranny as I have long tubes. The original plan was to be able to switch o2's and compare what the different banks were doing just for the heck of it. However my old o2 bung wont' fit the larger tip of the heated narrowband bung, and i'd need to build an extender harness to run the narrowband in the wideband bung on the other side of the tranny.

As for the problem with the Wideband... I think an exhuast leak may be the cause of the problem. Seems to me it would have to be a very noticeble, and intermitent leak to cause the sensor to read that messed up, but who knows. I haven't heard any exhaust leeks, and knock on wood I haven't had any problems with them but I'll check it all tonight when I'm home.

Anyone else have any ideas?
