Flickering ses light?

Ok,
Ill give you the full story on what happend.

I have a 8746 ecm. I had orded the g2 with the right spacing and 3 at29c256 chips. I soldered in the base to the g2 adapter ( the thing you solder in if you dont want to solder in the whole adapter.) about a month ago. I didnt hook up the adapter yet, i pushed the stock pin back into the socket. Worked perfect, no problems.

The other day I had burned a chip, so I pulled out the old chip, slid in the g2 adapter with a zif socket on it, and the ses light flickered. I tried burning another chip and it flickered again. I pushed on chip to make sure it was in and it was schorching hot. By now the car was idiling at 2500 rpm.

The zif socket was on the adapter backwards, so the ecm was recieving data backwards, so I assumed I fried the ecm. I went and bout another 8746 and tested it without putting the adapter on, it worked perfect!

I soldered up the adapter, following instructions completely, and burned a new chip ( using pp2 program) and installed the ecm. Same thing, the ses light would flicker fast, but very dim. This would happen wenever the igintion switch was on. It starts funny and idles rough.

Im not sure what it is. COuld it be when moates sent my chips, because they just wrapeed 3 chips together in a bunch on packaging tape? Did I fry the adapter? All the conections on the external wires end is snug. CAnt figure it out!

Please help me, This is my daily driver and need this to work asap!!

Might try *erasing* the chips by filling a .bin file with all FF's, and burning the chip with that.

1 pin not reading right will do the flicker SES light. Might quarduple check everything.

I've bought lots of the 256 from Craig that were taped together without issue, lots.....

I don't know much about his new adaptor but if you have to offset the bin that might be the issue. I don't know if he's gone into details about this on his website or not, I'd ask him and see what he has to say. I say this because obviously a 4k (stock sized bin and 2732 chip) doesn't fill a 32k chip! So when you load the buffer (the 4k bin) you might have to offset it to the "bottom" of the chip.
I wish I could help you more. Worst case scenario here but if you sent the ecm my way I could check it out and see if I could get it working for you.

So I found out what was wrong.
It was me. Im not very bright
I didnt locate the bin in the right spot. I had to start the bin at 7000 , but in my pp2, I had it set as 00000.
Well thanks alot for all your help and I hope my experience will help others in my same problem!
