Memcal Adapter

I have a memcal adpater from Moates and I want to make sure if I do (or don't) remove the original PROM from the memcal.

I have read the articles but it's not clear. It's my understanding that the memcal bypasses the original PROM therefore I can leave the existing in?

Is that correct?

You don't have to remove it. I'm not sure what happens if you do.

If you remove it, then it's not there anymore. That's about it....no consequences as far as the vehicle is concerned. If you're a weight reduction nut, pull it out. Leave the plastic cover off too.

Just make sure you put the memcal on the adapter the right way. I goofed that once already.....car didn't run so good like that.

The point of the adapter is to keep from having to obliterate the original memcal by removing the chip.

Don't remove the chip, even if you're a weight reduction nut. Its not worth it for the 25 grams the chip costs in terms of weight (you were kidding, right J?).

Sarcasm at it's finest.

I thought my first statement would have made that clear...
