Ok I have a 1227730 computer with chip and have been searching for a 7749 for some time now.:lala: :lala: I just went to the junk yard and found one out of a grand am. Now here it is I have a 86 monte carlo ss and would like to place this tpi 350 L98 motor in it with the tpi wiring harness which is from 89 I know I have to repin the harness from a 90 which I still have to find. What do I need from this grand am just the chip or do I need the whole computer with some of the wiring that plug up into the computer and chip.

Grab any component connectors you can as a start. You'll probably end up remaking the whole harness unless you buy something from an aftermarket source.
I just remade the whole thing so I knew it was right.
E-mail me and I'll get you on track with a full schematic of the 86' with all the instrument panel connections identified.
Has alot of sensor part numbers etc that you will need too. the main one is the VSS will need to be replaced IIRC.
Oh yea, since this is a Third Gen F body site, you'll need to call it an "F'n G-body" from now on. LOL .
