break in for a new engine.
break in for a new engine.
Hello
car is a 91 vette
Mods are:
H/C/I/E.
I should make around 120chp more then stock and spinning 1200rpm more then stock.
I only have the stock chip to start with, and im worried that it will run to rich at idle, or cruise during my break in. And that the extra fuel in the cyliders will wash away the importand oil from the cylider walls during this break in time.
I know when you break in a carb car you adjust the carb to make it go lean from startup, then crank the fuel up. A bit more is invloved with a FI car. You cant make on the fly adjusments like that, i cant anyway.
Or perhaps the ECM can adjust the fuel in closed loop to avoid to much fuel going in the engine during break in??
When the car is broken in, i will take it to a tuner.
But for now any tips?
