There's more to the memcal, then just the ESC. You want to run the most most similiar to the setup you have. While you might fudge on 305-350, the 6 cylinder, and TBI ones, are out of the question.

so, i would ideally want to use a memcal from a 350 tpi sd setup? i have a 91 350 memcal and a 91 305 memcal... i am going to put a zif socket in to change the chips.. i also have a memcal without the esc that i believe was from an 87 350 tpi that has the zif in it.. but no esc...
also looking for a good starting point for a 350 tpi with lt1 intake... no egr... with air... any .bin that would be good to start with or any suggestions on where to start with it. thanks

and use the 91 350 memcal as well - can also use a Moates adapter and not have to take a chance soldering on the memcal

I agree that you shouldn't mess with the stock memcal. Get a G1 adaptor minimum. I tried sodering a zif onto a memcal once. It didn't turn out well. The chip was all flakey. Haven't had one prob with this G1 adaptor and a stock memcal.

I agree with 90FormulaPROJ. The Moates adapter is $35 plus shipping, which is *way* cheaper than buying another memcal when you wreck the first one.

As I was swaping out my chip last night. I was thinking about. what a pain it the but it must have been. For the veterans of prom tuning, erasing chips, and wearing out computer sockets.

Ive got my eye on a few new toys.

C3's only seem good for about 400 insertions, don't ask how I know.
