85 prom in 89 computer

Engine: 5.7 liter
Transmission: 700r4
Axle/Gears: 2.77
85 prom in 89 computer
I am haveing a vats problem in my 89 iroc. I have a extra tpi computer out of my 85 z28. Will the prom from the 85 work in the 89. I just dont know if the vats is in the computer or part of the prom. PLEASE HELP.......

no a 1985 tpi car uses a 1227870 ecm it is a c3 generation in design and uses a 2732 eprom. this is a 24pin memory device.
the 1989 model year ecm is a 1227165 its a p4 generation and uses a 66 pin memcal inside that memcal is a 28pin 27c128 eprom. these are not interchangeable.
