Will Prominator work w/ Accel Power Processor (MAF-SD Conversion)?

I have one of the early 90's Accel Power Processors for the MAF system that converts it to SD along with a MAP sensor and conversion wiring harness (MAF - MAP) sitting in my closet.

If I was to buy a Prominator for my 165 and "tune" the chip and then slap the Accel unit on.....would that work?

It kinda confuses me because I know you still have to burn chips for stuff like fans and whatnot and I'm not familiar with what can be tuned with the Accel unit (using Calmap).

Can anybody chim in about this? Do you think it will work?

I think It will work, If I'm not remember it wrong the power processor only controls fuel and spark, all other things is controlled by the PROM.

But if you are going to burn your own chip why use the Power processor?

That's true, but what about spark adjustments above the magic 4800rpm mark on the prom? I would hope the 2 would go hand-in-hand to help me tune the car for its best in all rpm ranges. :hail:

With the Prominator you can carry 8 chips at a time, how many do you need?.

Calmap is for the Accel Gen VI ecms.

Power Processor last I looked had 2 dials. One for fuel and one for spark. That's not much control, IMO.

The Power Processor came with Calmap software and you can hook a laptop up to it. Not sure what you can tune that way, but I do know that you have to run a slower laptop with it (Pentium 166 or so). It also has the fuel and spark screws on the unit its self too.
