retrofitting corvette cluster
I'm driving a 1993 caprice wagon, with a TBI, soon to be converted to a TPI system with a "730" ecm. I have a instrument cluster from a 1998 Corvette, and would like to install it .
I notice both ECMs use a serial data line to feed other components.Since the wagon is OBD and the Vette dash responds to OBD2, is there a way to send the signal from the 730 to the OBD2 complient cluster to get some basic funtions out of it? Obviously some funtions such as suspension and body control systems don't exsist on the wagon, but basic events like the tach. gas, oil, voltage, odometer and fuel level would be "handy". Is this a feasable thing to attempt? This is my first post to the forum, and I seached unsuccessfully for related threads.
edit: NO it won't work!
