Memcal/Calpack HELP!

Memcal/Calpack HELP!

Anyone know where to find a Memcal/Calpack?

I'm looking for a 1988-1989 (MAF of Course)... does the limp mode differ from 305 to 350 and from Auto to Manual or is all the limp mode the same no matter what? How about from 86 or 87, would the limp mode be the same as the 88-89 without cold start injector?

I tried to remove my prom and ended up demolishing my old Memcal...

So yeah, I need a new one... HELP!

Engine: 305TPI
Transmission: 700R4
Axle/Gears: 10-bolt, 2.73
You can get one through a dealer. You'll need the stock four-letter code that is on the chip to correctly match the new and old.

Edit: go here AC Delco Part Catalog. You can narrow down your prom choices depending on factory options.

That's the thing tho... I'm swapping from a 305, which was setup as manual in the chip (it had an auto behind it tho) to a 383, which will be auto. So I want the best suited Limp Mode, I am going to be tuning the Prom it self, I just need a memcal for the limp mode...

Oh, you just need the number for the last version of the 350 TPI MAF Auto memcal for 1989. Let me do some searching.

Above are results from the Delco site. 16150500 is a GM part number. I thought the last version was a ARAP though. Someone more knowledgable than me knows the answer.

Any chance you want to get rid of the one you have? What engine is it for? auto/manual?

Sorry about the compulsion editing.

I'm not sure the one I have in that '165 is stock. I was told it was reburned and have never had the opportunity to check. I not even sure that it's a 5.7L or 5.0L memcal. I bought the ECM as backup as I was planning to purchase a MAF car a few years ago.

edit: that prom code was actually ABWT and is for a 1987 GTA with a 350 and 3.27 gears. It was supposedly later burned for

edelbrock high flow intake
edelbrock headers
58mm throttle body
slp runners
slp cold air intake
30 lb ford racing injectors
ported- plenum,intake,heads
a hot cam

but I doubt it.

That's the thing tho... when you reprogram a chip, i don't think you change the limp mode stuff, that's on the seperate chips in the memcal...

so basically... back to my original question... are all limp modes the same, independent of auto/manual and 86-87/88-89?
or would I need a specific year/engine/tranny to get the best limp mode for me?
