27SF512 problems...

I can't seem to accomplish anything with my BURN1, Flash Burn, and my 27SF512 chip. I followed all the instructions in the readme file about the port settings, and I still get nothing. This is what I see when I start the program:

HW: v0.128.E
Reading device into buffer...

--------------------------------- (Here I try to read the chip)

ERROR: PROM I/O returned failure

The error changes slightly depending on what I try to do:

Erasing device...
ERROR: Erase Command returned failure

If I try to use Flash & Burn version 1.04 I get an error about hardware not being connected:

Supported Hardware not found!
Attach supported hardware and re-open application!

Anyone got any idea's?

You don't, by chance, have an ALDL cable plugged in between your car and your computer while trying to run the program, do you? If so, disconnet that first, then try.

The hardware version that is showing up in the log you pasted is wacky. You may have bad hardware.

Email Craig and he'll straighten the matter out.

Looks that way to me. You didn't reflash it with the wrong firmware did you?

Also may try closing the software programs, disconnecting the BURN1, and then reconnecting it after 10 seconds or so and restarting the software.

I don't have anything plugged into the car when trying it. I am inside, at my desktop PC.

I have never re-flashed it with any firmware.
