Prom setup questions
Hey guys, I have taken on a project for a college class and I want to have a bin switcher with an LCD display of the modes and a rotary style switch to switch the modes, I know some of you dn't think it's necisary, but that's my project, I have the help of the automotive instructors and the electronics department, so I have a TON of resources, I have already burned a few chips and can tell a difference, any one got any tips? or ideas? Thanks Guys!

Look at www.sytychips.com for some ideas. All the 3bar chips that were made for the SyTys had some of what you were looking for. Check out the ultimate tab or the 50lb chip tab for some pictures of the units.

Craig has a nice adapter "G3" that has the switcher on board and has the option for the "EX" that is on a 6' cord.
Digital display that has 0-F for 16 x 32k programs on a 29F040 chip.
Been using it for over a year now and love it!
I'm setting up another stacked bin for it right now as a matter of fact.

This will make it a little too easy though!

Moate's used to sell a 8 way switcher for the TBI/c3 ecms but he stopped and now only sells the adaptor. I've got one and was using it a lot before I got my romulator.

Just how ambitious and electro-tech savy are you?
Yes, the Moates goodies are great, but if you want to blaze out on your own then why not a blue tooth/ fiber optic digital switcher, maybe with a PIC computer chip, Xilinx, large eeprom and go into hyperdrive! you could have dozens, hundreds of alternative set-ups.
In fact for total insanity or when I finally have some time for it myself, this is what I've planned:
An interactive learning system coupled with a "G-meter" (or two actually.)
My first simple version is just for drags. Throw the switches, and foot down. The "new" computer tells me when to shift.
All I do is repeat as necessary. After every run IT compares the modifications for me and decides what next set of variables to try.
In theory it could try hundreds of set-ups in each gear or second of acceleration.
Sooner or later someone is going to come up with something like it. If not me, might as well be you!
Good Luck and get a Digikey catalog!
