maxed out FP/ lean A/F WOT

had FP set 14 lbs and noted A/F at WOT was running 13.5/1. moved it to 16 lbs and found 13.2/1. yesterday moved to 19.5/1 and have yet to log WOT but logged 25 miles into work and found CL idle at 11.5 to 12.0/1. i know that is rich but it smoothed out idle completely and stablized it 750-800. no surging. also the AE is again way to rich so i will pull out 50% in AE TPS and MAP. however the previous stumble i saw at clutch engage is now gone. previously it was a lean spike on WB then AE was invoked at car accelerated into first with that aforementioned slight unnerving stumble/bog for that split second. seems the rich condition at idle benefited the tip in.

ps car ran like crap with A-B aldl jumper in place. took a while to realize i forgot to remove it

Yup, another TBI being fuel flow limited. Also, with the increased fuel pressure the AE pulse width's are smaller making them less likely to get "dropped" when they conflict with a sync pulse width . Lots of good reasons to use high fuel flow rates.
The hardest part about TBI is the AE, good luck with that.
As for the closed loop idle AFR, with your cam and intake distribution issues it might be a false AFR. Check the spark plugs and if it runs great at idle then let it be , remember the engine will tell you what it wants, not the other way around.

I wouldnt put absolute faith in the WB, especially when tuning AE. My NB flatlines when the engine starts misfiring from being drowned in fuel. I ordered a WB, but Im gonna leave it in the box untill I get AE as close as possible by feel/visual appearance of exhaust. After seeing what the NB did when it was overly rich, just using the apparent AFR could be misleading.

It probably is lean out top, but just as a double check, you can datalog pulsewidths and see if the injectors are static, and how much so.
