Broke PP2

Well, I think my PP2 is broke. I was babysitting a couple of puppies and they pulled the unit off my desk. They chewed the power cord in half but I electrical taped it back together. The ribbon cable got chewed so I cut the bad part off and reterminated the ribbon cable. All I get now is "chip not seated properly". I did notice that there are some pins right behind the chip socket. Did it have a jumper or two on these pins that got knocked off? I reloaded the software but no luck. I also ordered a couple new chips just to rule that out. No luck. Any help would be appreicated. Thanks, BranZ

Did it say "chip' or "device" not seated properly? When mine said "device not seated properly" it meant that ESD got into the unit. In my case, I must have had a static charged prom. In your case its probably puppy static. Xtronics fixed it though, and only charged me for the shipping. Good bunch there at xtronics.

You are right. It was chip. I will just have to send it off. I do have to state that no puppies were harmed during the mishap. Thanks, BranZ
