Couple Q's regarding tuning
The learning curve for me is still climbing so bear with me.
I have a 90 IROC using the 730 ECU, SD, 8D, S_AUJP_v3.CCP, TPRT (newest download), Super_ 8dm2.ecu, 1227730_8d and the PROMinator, with stock NBO2.
I have been datalogging and making appropriate changes for some time now. My questions are:
1. Using the S_AUJP_v3_CCP, the fuel tables have been increased to 6400 but the spark tables have not. They still max out at 5600. What happens with the spark above 5600 RPM? Does it lock on to the last known value and continue on or.. what?
2. My 383 should spin to at least 6400, however I am not receiving any data above 5275 on my log. I did two WOT runs today from zero MPH thru 110 MPH and the highest value recorded was 5275 RPM. My tach spun to 7,000, it's still the stock tach and I'm sure it is reading high but, from experience, I know the motor spun higher than 5275. Why is the data not recording that high?
3. I'm pretty sure the answer has to deal with one of the def files I'm using but, I'm not sure which one. From all the reading I've done I believe I'm using the most up to date files. Is there something newer I should be using?
Advice is appreciated, thanks in advance.

2) I've spun the 8D code up on the ecm bench and TurboLink has read up to just over 6,000 just fine.
3) can't help you on that one.

Sounds like another attempt is in order with someone in the passenger seat to verify the high RPM on TPRT/laptop while I watch the Tach.
I raised the PE enable TPS% to 99.9 to get to the higher RPM VE's but was surprised when no data was recorded.
I also set all BLM boundaries to 1200 RPM and 42.5 MAP to limit the amount of BLM cells to minimize skewed data as it crosses through the boundaries. Is this the right way to limit the cell boundaries while making adjustments to the VE table?
Thanks.

You need to change the BLM max RPM constant to a higher RPM to read the higher RPM BLMs.
On my TBI I set it to 6,400 and get BLMs all the way to my 5,300 shift point.

I did get it back out for another run though. I made two passes in WOT resulting in the highest reading of 5950 RPM's. That's better but my engine should be spinning higher with the cam it has. I'll live with it though cause it sounds sweet and is pulling hard at 5950! I manually shifted when the tach read 65-6700 so the stock tach is definately off. I also tried holding it a few 100 RPM's higher but it fell flat and screamed redline at me. Now back to finding more power...
