Prom Error after "converting" aftermarket chip

I have a question. After burning several chips on my own, I decided to try an aftermarket chip. I copied their 2732 and programmed it to the 29C256 chip that I'm using. The chip actually works pretty good and datalogging produced great BLM numbers right off the bat.

Unfortunately, WinALDL is indicating a "Prom Error" flag. No flashing lights and it runs just fine. Do I have a problem here? I tried another chip and produced the same results. I didn't have this problem when I originally reproduced the stock chip, but perhaps I dorked up an offset or something. Would it still run fine with a bad offset?

I experimented with several programs (both old and new versions) attempting to isolate the problem. Finally, I renamed the PROM ID from the manufacturers P/N to the stock PROM number. Possible coincidence, but it seemed to work.

I was primarily concerned that something was wrong and would cause damage the computer or strand me. This is 30 seconds of your life that you won't get back.

Probably didn't have the checksum calculated properly. But if it's working fine now you should be good to go. No worries.
