rough open loop idle

I recently installed a 454 TBI unit on top of my 350 chevy, and now it idles really rough when cold. I'm using 61# injectors from Turbo City. I set the idle air by the book, IAC counts are at 5 - 10 when warm in park. But when I start it cold, it smells rich and has a spitting sound at the tailpipes. Once it warms up, it runs perfect. I've been trying to correct this, but I'm not sure how all the open loop tables work to control idle (7747 ECM). I'm using WINALDL & Tunercat.

- I've been using this forum for a long time now, and would never have attempted any mods without knowing what I've learned here. You guys have a great forum here. Glad to finally be a part of it.

You want to look at the Open Loop, and Choke variables. While my TC is rather dated, they're 2/3 of the way down, in the first column.

Make smallish changes, and take notes, after a while trends will appear.

BTW, be sure to follow the ultimate TBI thread, that takes TBI to a whole new level.

Thanks, Grumpy.

- I checked your posts over, and did some research. I leaned out the Open Loop Air Fuel Ratio vs. Coolant Temp table, and zeroed out Open Loop Air Fuel Ratio vs. MAP. Everything got much smoother after that.
