What am I missing

OK, I did manage to get a chip(27sf512) programed and it seems to be working or the limp home mode-flash isnt blinking at me anyway. I cant really tell because I cant scan it, the program ID is AA and not sure if I can scan anyway . Now I did do the 1,2,26,27,28 soldering of the sockets together before I install in ecm. I finally get or at least have a handle of the offset thing and where the eprom should go on the chip, after reading moates's post about a million times.

SOOOOOOO, now I took the boards advice used a 7747 ecm with the original eprom still in the socket , did my soldering to a new socket, pulled original chip-read and saved bin, edited the original $42 eprom in tunercat, saved new bin, checked checksums/good, erased 27sf512 chip from 00000-0ffff, set pp2 to program from 00000/0F000/0FFFF in that order, programed chip, verified chip/good, installed chip in ecm and WAMMMMOOOO, limp home flash again, GRRRRRR. What am I missing? Is there a flag or something that has to be set to keep checksums or program right, like an emissions flag or something?Or is there a step I'm doing wrong? I know it shows me that my bin file is 4k in my bin folder but when I check in tunercat to check the checksum it says "file size 32K" so it seems like the code tells something to tunercat that it is a 32k file or at least thats what it is, could this be my problem? Do I need to set something in tunercat to say its a 64k file? As always thanks in advance for any info.

As stock version of Tunercat without a modified TDF file expects the bin to be the stock size (not 64k). If you use a 64k then everything is wrong. That is why I keep a running copy of the stock sized bin and bin stack it before burning to the PROM. It keeps the Tunercat software happy.
