So, tune for the cam, or get a new one?

Hey guys!

I've got a bit of a decision to make here. I've got a fresh 355 engine with a mild cam in my truck. I originally built the engine with a carburator in mind, and as such, the cam isn't exactly fuel injection friendly (110 lsa etc)

I've been eyeballing comp cam's EFI cams, and I'm very tempted to buy one to save myself the tuning problems I'm gonna have otherwise, and just toss the cam from the TPI truck into my other carburated shortbed.

Which would be easier to do? Cam swap, or tuning?

Cam swap does involve the removal of my engine.

What ECM? I have a 350ci comp cam 110 CL, 218 duration I/E in a truck with TPI and MAF 165 ECM. The MAF does a fine job of fixing things up at idle, part throttle. I had to tune WOT. This ain't a horsepower rig. It is a truck that is used as a truck. It idles smooth at 650 rpm.

I have a 350ci crane 110 CL 216 duration in a LT1 intake car with MAP 730 ECM. I had to do a fair amount of tuning to get it to idle decent, steady at part throttle, and WOT. I never did get it "really good", but it is OK and drivable. It idled somewhat smooth at 700rpm.

EDIT: You can leave the 110 CL but expect more tuning if using MAP system....just my opinion. It all depends on the peak HP vs. drivability you are after. Listen to what others say and search around. There has been a lot of posts about cams and tuning.
