another quick question

If I use the Craig Moates adapter with a new EEPROM, can I take out the entire adapter and use the stock EPROM?

What I mean is can I use the adapter with my own EEPROM, and then completely take out the adapter and chip and regain full use off my stock EPROM?

Yes, that's what the adapter is for. Just FYI (you may already know) the adapter requires the use of the stock memcal; just bypasses the EPROM.

You also might want to consider an Aries ZIF. They are inexpensive, and save on wear on the adapter. Hard to tell in the ECM pic, but the ZIF is there, along with the stock memcal, at the top of the adapter.

One more thing, when running the WinBin Editor, you must input a Bin File and an ECU File. Ididn't read anything in the Intro To Prom Burning article about one being needed. I have the BIN File but where does the ECU File come from?

I now know what the ECU (Calibration) File is but I dont know where to get one. I need one for a 1227730 ECU. The DIY-EFI website wont work and the one from the area51 website won't work after I unzip it. It says Grid32 is not working right. Where can I get one that will work?
