I have a homemade cable for winaldl. IT works perfectly with my old 486 laptop. I recently got a newer laptop and installed it into the car, wired directly into the car's computer, and the audio system. The audio portion works like a charm . However, i cant get the winaldl logging to work for the life of me. IT still works with the old laptop, but when I plug the cable into the new laptop, nothing. The port settings are the same on both computers. The new laptop recognizes a serial mouse, so I don't think the serial port is damaged... what the heck is going on?

at 12 in the morning, I had an idea, and I went to eh garage to test it. The problem turned out to be some sort of conflict with my USB hub. The cable is now up and running Thanks
