Help with ECM swap pinout please
Help with ECM swap pinout please
I have a 1993 Cadillac Fleetwood (L05/4L60), which has the funky flash chip 16159280 ECM that has no tuning support available. I am swapping to a 1993 GMC 1500 pickup truck (L05/4L60E) 16168625 ECM so I can start to tune my new L31 swap. I have the pinouts mostly done and have verified as much as I can against the wiring diagrams from the respective service manuals. As you'd expect, the Cadillac has some features the truck did not have
I'm willing to lose things like the "change oil" light, but I can't lose my A/C and such...
So, here's the pinout changeover diagram I have as of now.
http://www.people.virginia.edu/~mec2...inoutsSwap.htm
Column A is the function/hardware description. Column B is the location of the pin in the stock 16159280 location. Column C is the location of the equivalent pin in the stock ECM. All of that stuff on the right is the 16168625 ECM's factory pinout.
Example for my table:
Take the fuel pump relay pin from the 16159280's A1 location and put it into the 16168625's B12 location.
Hope that's understandable. If anyone has any thoughts or knows where else I should look for details PLEASE do advise!!!
Thanks much

I've narrowed it down to just a couple of concerns for now.
1.) Fuel enable - The 16168625 ECM does not have a pin for the fuel enable wire from my Central Control Module (this is for the Pass-Key©II system). I'm not sure how to deal with this. Do I just bypass this as if I were installing an aftermarket vehicle alarm? Because there is no ECM input for the Pass-Key©II fuel enable, do I even need to worry about it?
2.) Poll Request - This is a poll request that goes to the HVAC control module. I'm unsure what a poll request to the HVAC is even needed for...
3.) Intake Air Temp (IAT) sensor - Parts stores list a IAT sensor for the truck this came from, but the wiring diagrams don't list an IAT input. Any advice on this one?

Just a single concern remains for now.

This is what I have so far. I can account for pretty much all but the intake air temperature sensor.

Thanks.
