Best definition to use for TPI swap, 32, 32b, 6e? What broadcast code to start with?
A friend of mine is soon going to be placing a TPI setup on his IROC and replacing the carb that he's had lots of problems with. The TPI setup we are hoping to aquire is off of a 305 and the year is undetermined as of yet. I know it's a MAF setup with the 165 ECM. He's gonna want me to tune this system, but I need to make it run first. My experience is primarily with speed density LT1's, so I need some information about these systems!
I've been doing some looking and I see that the 32, 32b, and the 6e definitions should all work with the 165 ECM. What are the pros and cons of one definition file over another? I believe that the 6e eliminates the cold start injector? Is this all it does? The TPI system we're getting will likely still have a cold start injector but that doesn't mean we have to use it.
Also since the TPI computer we'll be getting is for a 305, that's obviously gonna be less than optimal, I'm gonna want a different calibration before I even start. So, in addition to 32, 32b, or 6e, what would be the best broadcast code to start with on a 350 with a manual trans?

If you havent read this already then you may want to look at it "The Prom Tuning Guide" I think it help answer alot of the concerns you have. In my opinion the $6E is a much better mask to use (more versatile) and aside from injector size and timing the 305 and 350 use the exact same setup.
