dead spot at 1500 rpms

ran OL and CL. fueling in OL is giving me a 122-124 BLM when verified in CL. so plenty of fuel in tune at 1200-1600 30/50map. i ran a .bin at 126 BLM CL. issue is both tunes at 1500 rpms in any gear(1-5) shows on WB 20/1 A/F. car slows down and struggles to pull load. issue is 1500 rpms under load and 1500 rpms with little load in lower gear. once i hit 1600 rpms will accellerate and A/F moves to 15/1 CL or 14.5/1 OL bin. if i accellerate briskly off idle it is a non issue. if i accellerate ever so slowly i hit the dead spot.
spark is 21 d at idle and moves to 26 deg at 1400-1600 rpms at 50 map and dropping to 20 at 1400-1600 rpms. dont think spark tables can affect A/F on WB however !

i posted this earlier in tuning season. Grumpy felt reversion is not the issue as it occurs at peak TQ i think he suggested. anyway in OL i dont think reversion can affect the issue as fueling in non 02 sensor related. fueling is set in tables and it gives what is commanded. plus i am rich ++ in OL.

what do you think?

I think that you have discovered a drawback of the 8 x 9 VE table. It really is that simple.

You can try reducing the SA several degrees in that area. Good possibility that will make the dead spot worse.

Are you switching between async and sync? Just a thought.

Somehow though, I'm trying to think of what ignition problem is causing it, like cracked plugs or something strange like that.

I think some experiementing needs done. Engines can have areas where they *struggle* to get up and going. That and you might have to wind up with some hills, and vallyes in the timing, and fuel tables. Don't *think* that they should all be smoothly transistioning up or down. Some times, you'll have an odd entry or 3.

well i suppose it wont make much diff as i am going EBL with prominator very soon. like next week. picking up a 8746 and mailing to Bill tues. that may be a cure for some of my ills. odd thing is a rich BLM in Cl and rich in all fuel cells around that rpm/map area yet WB dont lie it is spiking lean.

i was thing this AM that the header collector flange to ext pipe is constantly loosening up. would air leakage into header cause that?
