clarify when PE is invoked...

lets say i have my PE enable set to 50% TPS in my .bin. and lets further state i am cruising on level road at steady TPS position of 55%. and lets futher further state the 55% steady throttle was achieved by very slow accelleration.

i believe i would not be in PE mode with this example. Right?

would not PE be involked only when the 50% TPS is achieved over a set time frame usec? can one steady cruise at 75% tps and be non PE and CL? assuming the forementioned is on tract.

Your belief is wrong. PE will last for as long as the conditions to enable it are meet.

Sounds like you associating PE, with AE. AE is only (or should be) a temporary condition.

so are you suggesting if PE enable in .bin is 50% TPS and i am cruising steady state at 60% TPS with throttle locked i would then be PE and I should see on WB my 12.7/1 A/F as commanded in .bin?

acutually i was trying to define PE invoke and how it differs from AE invoke and whether it is possible to be CL at %TPS in excess of the % commanded in my .bin.

PE mode on the '747 ECMs can be delayed. Being a truck ECM there is a routine that will delay invoking PE. IIRC it is dependent upon TPS, MAP, and RPM. It has been a long time since I've looked at it. Way years in the past I just patched the routine out.

About closed loop and PE. When in PE mode the closed loop flag can still be set. It isn't really in closed loop, just flagged as such. The learn mode flag will not be active in PE.

RBob.
