prominator uplaod failures
Along with the saga elsewhere of my "Fuel Flooded Frustrations elsewhere"
I've installed the prominator that I got last week from Mr Bill. Using the Prominator software I'm getting fairly consistant "Upload Failure" and "Verify Failure " messages. Itdid this tonight for two hours straight. I'm not sure if anything actually loaded up or not.under the circumstances.
The cable is connected to the parellel port first. I'm turning the RAD Bank selection dial to a particular number, opening the Prominator software, selecting a .bin to open. hiitin the upload execute icon, then watching the progress bar. It cycles several times then says "upload failure" then lists several addresses similar to as these actual messages listed below.
at address 0x2000 ROM=0xff File= 0x00
0x39c2 ROM=0x3b File= 0xBD
there are usually 7-10 such meassages per upload attempt
Oddly to me is if I'm trying to load Bank 7 on the dial, I see bank 0 or bank 1 listed on the software screen.
I have my ALDL pins jumoped to see the error codes, hoping to see code 21 as a good sign. Sometimes I get code 51, sometimes a nonflashing light, no light at all, maybe code 21.
Why am I not loading consistantly?

Hey lakeffect,
I'm still having this very same problem. I sent an Email to Bill and Ken. Bill replied saying his initial thoughts may be the OS the laptop is using. He was on the road at the time but said when he got back home he would look into it. I havent heard back yet though.
The only difference between mine and yours was that I found mine would do what you are describing only when the vehicle battery gets low. If fully charged, it will give me a "verify error" right away without going through any motions.
I'm still trying! I plan on sending a file with some screen shots of what it is telling me to Bill to see if it means anything to him. I can send it to you too if you like, that way we may be able to see if we ar eseeing he same thing.
I'm somewhat in the same boat as you are. My truck hasn't moved in about 6 months while I've done a carb-TPI swap. I can see the light at the end but getting there is rough!

I think I have some injector issues to deal with as well. (in a different thread)
