which chip for 305?

I really know nothing about chips, and I was wondering what chip I could get for a 91rs with TBI. I have seen plenty of chips for z's with TPI, but I would guess that they would take a different chip than my car. I am not really interested in burning my own because I am afraid I would screw something up. I just want a chip that would boost my horsepower. I am not looking for some crazy gain in horsepower, but a little bit would be nice. Where can I get a fairly cheap (i have no idea what they cost) chip that would work on my car? Do I have to change anything on my car to make the chips work right? Is it possible to buy a chip that could mess up my car, or could I just easily take it out and make my car work like stock again? I am very new with this chip stuff, thanks

jm,

Basically, you are looking for an 'off the shelf' chip. There are many companies who can supply a chip for your car...

HyperTech
ADS
Jet
FastChip
Performance Resource
etc.

Truth is - I've consistently heard bad things about all of them and good things about all of them. This is expected since it is not a 'custom' chip. I hate to say this but you could play eenie-meenie-miny-mo and pick one of the above. It may work great, it may not. Its hard to say because it won't be a custom chip.

If I were forced to make a decision then I would probably go with Ed Wright and Fastchips. I have ZERO affiliation with Fastchips but I like the fact that if you're not happy then Ed will try to make things right.

No - you won't hurt your car with a performance PROM - AS LONG AS YOUR CAR IS ALREADY IN PERFECT RUNNING ORDER.

Gunning for NA 11's with the MiniRam II and Hooker LT Headers.
