What .bin to start with, and where do I get it?

Alright, so after all the reading I've done here, I have WinALDL, a guy at my work is helping me make the cable tomorrow, and I have downloaded TunerPro RT.

I am going to contact Craig Moates ASAP and get his programmer, a socket for my 1227747 ECM, and the guys at work are going to help me solder it in. While I'm at it, I'm going to get some extra EEPROMs so I can get going. I have a few questions thus far:

1. After I put in the 28 pin socket from Moates, am I going to still be able to use my 24 pin chip that came with my ECM? I figure I won't modify that one at all, I'll just keep that one in case I have problems, I can keep that one handy to pop in for a baseline.

2. My donor truck was an 87 R30, 350 TBI, with a TH 400 automatic transmission. My truck is an 84 K10 with a SM465 4 speed manual transmisson. Which .bin should I use to start with? Where do I get the .xdf file to start in TunerPro RT? This is my most important question. I need some files to start editing.

Fast 355 has been very helpful in showing me how to make the calculatons so that I can adjust the BPWC when I up the fuel pressure. I have saved all his PMs and they have been very helpful in explaining this in real world English since I get pretty lost with the acronyms around here.

I'm figuring as of now, if I can get my stock fuel pump to produce 17 PSI, my 61 lb/hr injectors can become 86 lb/hr units. (Is stock rated at 12 psi?) I need 95-100 lb/hr to support my engine, but this will get me a good start (I may end up with 75 lb injectors at 16 psi or so before it's over with. I'm going to plumb my fuel system this Tuesday, if I have time, and hook up a fuel pressure gauge to see where I'm at.

As of now, the only thing I've bought is an adjustable fuel pressure reglator and an injector spacer.

I'm really anxious to get into this chip burning, or at least get some practice editing the maps. As of now I need to know which .bin to start with, where to get it, and the same for the .xdf file, and then I can start tinkering.

Yes, and I think I'm going to use it.

My new question is, does the PROMinator fit in the stock socket?

If so, I'm probably just going to get that.

Either way, I need a .bin to get started.

Alright, I figured out how to make a .xdf file. If you go to Moates.net they have some files available for download, as well as some on the TunerPro site.

These files are in .ecu format, which you have to go to the XDF menu, Import, from ECU, and then you can use these .ecu files as your definition file. I found the one for my 7747 ECM and I'm good to go right now.

I'm not sure which .bin to start with or if it even matters. Now I guess all I need is a PROMinator and I can start tuning.

I guess this thread is dead, but I typed all this out so that if anyone searches in the future, they will know how to get a .bin and .xdf file they need to get started.
