i have a perfomance resourse chip in my 89 5.0 tpi 700r4 with 3.42 posi. i just bought a 89 GTA that has a 5.7 tpi 700r4 with a 3.27 posi. will it work and what will happen if i install it,

Depends on what your definition of 'work' is. Will the car start and run? Yes. Will it be faster ... no. The 305 chips are VERY much different than the 350 chips. I could list many Many MANY reasons why. Spark params, fuel params, TC params, constants, etc. You'd be better off with the 350 chip, an AFPR, and cranking up the base timing.
