PROM, ECM, knock sensor and ESC Advice -for a CC Qjet, 350 with blower (Long)
My daily driver (LG4) died with 160K miles. I needed a quick upgrade to a 350.
I considered the GM HO 350 Camaro conversion. However, the GM 350-conversion kit sells for $5795 in www.nextgenparts.com. I didn’t think that was $ well spent with aftermarket parts being cheaper. I installed a new universal GM 350 for $1200. two years ago and it has run flawlessly. I used money for a new hood, paint and leather interior. In addition I have installed 1 3/4 SLP headers, dual cat and SLP cat back exhaust ($1600). Now, I have a used B&M blower (144 model)($1000) to waken things up. I have an air to fuel monitor and plan to modify the Qjet as per tech article from Dallas Area Pontiac Association members. I plan to adjust the air fuel ratio to 14.5 to 1. I have ordered an Edelbrock cam PN 2102 (204/214 degrees and LSA 112) and 76 cc assembled heads from world products (~$750). Since the engine is to be a supercharged stock engine I don’t want to blow the pistons. I plan to run only 5 PSI of boost. Now the blower is to have 16 degrees initial lead with 32 degrees of total spark advance with the entire advance coming in at 2800. GM advises in the 350 conversion the following parts:
ECM controller PN 1228079
**** 24502456
Knock sensor 10456018
Module elec. spark control 16128261
B&M (AKA Holley) electronic Boost retard system PN 91070.
So should I go with the above or is there another plug and play system?
If it seems I don’t exactly know what’s going on its cause years ago I only had to set points!!!
